I love this guy. Even though I voted for Obama, I am a conservative by most standards, and am dismayed by the current plan to reinvigorate the economy. I must say though, that I don't think McCain would have done any better.

I understand your concerns about Paul's foreign policy, but I agree with him. Interventionism is key in maintaining sound fiscal policy. I think in my perfect world, the answer would lie somewhere in the middle, with a minimally interventionist strategy based on humanism, instead of dollars and guns.

There is more than one way to achieve sound fiscal policy. In my perfect world, sound fiscal policy would be achieved by a huge reduction or complete elimination of the vast majority of government social programs and the complete waste that accompanies them.

Ultimately, I see spreading freedom throughout the world as a worthy goal. And, one that will, in the long run, increase our prosperity. Whether or not increasing prosperity for our nation is a good thing is debatable.
